Hi there! I’m Katie!
This is my blog about fitness, health and everything else in my life! It’s hard finding a balance between school, work, friends, and everything in between, so I hope this blog can be a place where I write mostly about health, fitness and nutrition, but also a place I can write about my attempt to balance all these things.
But first… A little bit about myself…
When I was 16 I had a major back surgery, and my surgeon told me that I needed to make health my number one priority, or I’d face life-long troubles with my back. I realized I needed to make health a priority, but it was hard as someone who grew up in a T.V. dinner family.
That’s when I gave up my fast-food loving and TV watching lifestyle. I refused to let myself struggle with the overweight and unhealthy lifestyle that the rest of family seemed to endure. Since then I’ve been experimenting with different types of exercise and I even went vegan in January this year, but since May I’m back to being a pescitarian. I’m still always experimenting with what I have to do to be the healthiest person I can be, and I’m learning more and more each day.
I decided that I wanted to dedicate my career to helping others get healthy, which is why I chose to pursue kinesiology in university. I’m learning so much about the myths and ideas that surround fitness, and I wanted this blog to be a place I can share some of the things I’m learning. As a student I’m always struggling to apply what I know about health to my life, and I’m sure there are others out there who are in the same situation.
